Positive Pay in UBT Business & How to Use It Effectively
Positive Pay is designed to help businesses detect and prevent unauthorized or altered checks from clearing their accounts.
The Positive Pay system within UBT Business has a new quick decision page under the Risk & Reporting tab for faster processing of exceptions.
Please note: All Positive Pay exception decisions must be made before 3:00 p.m. CST. If a decision is not made by this cutoff, the system will utilize your default decisioning and either pay or return the item. You also will need to make sure list a payee.
Accessing Positive Pay
The UBT Business mobile app also supports Positive Pay functionality, which means you can:
- Review and decision exception items from your phone or tablet.
- Receive alerts and take action immediately — no need to wait until you’re back at your desk.
This is especially useful for business owners and managers who travel or work remotely.
You can also find the Positive Pay widget on your homepage, which shows:
- A summary of any pending exceptions
- Quick links to decision them
- A real-time view of your check fraud protection status
