Alerts in UBT Business

Why alerts matter and how to set them up

Alerts are more than just notifications — they’re proactive tools that help businesses:

  • Detect suspicious activity early
  • Maintain cash flow awareness
  • Ensure timely responses to critical events
  • Customize how and when they receive updates

UBT Business's alert system is built with flexibility and security in mind, offering multiple types of alerts and delivery methods to suit every business need.

All alerts can be delivered via secure message, email, or SMS text.

Types of Alerts Available

The platform supports three main categories of alerts:

1. Security alerts

These are essential for protecting your account. Some are required and cannot be turned off — such as alerts for password changes — ensuring you're always aware of key security events.

Others, like notifications for external transfers or new device registrations, can be toggled on or off based on your preferences.

2. Account and history alerts

These alerts help you monitor account activity and balances in real time. You can set up alerts for:

  • Balance thresholds (e.g., when an account drops below $1,000)
  • Daily balance summaries
  • Specific transaction types, such as:
    • Debits over a certain amount
    • Cleared checks
    • Transactions with specific descriptions (e.g., “Water Services”)
3. Online transaction alerts

These alerts notify you when specific online actions occur, such as:

  • Wires being drafted
  • Funds transfers initiated

If you use the UBT Business mobile app, you can also receive push notifications, ensuring you're alerted even when you're away from your desk.

Setting Up Alerts

Creating alerts is simple:

  1. Navigate to the Connect tab.
  2. Select Alert Settings.
  3. Choose the type of alert you want to create.
  4. Define the criteria (e.g., balance amount, transaction type).
  5. Select your preferred delivery method (email, SMS, secure message, or push notification).
  6. Save the alert.

You can edit or delete alerts at any time, giving you full control over your notification preferences.

As a note, all messages are encrypted and transmitted securely within the banking platform.
